2nd Festival of Polish Folklore – Leamington Spa – 1995

6, 7 & 8 May 1995

Following the success two years earlier Royal Leamington Spa again played host to the festival.  The weekend coincided with the 50th anniversary of V.E. Day which was commemorated with a poignant poem and song during the shows.

Groups which performed

Fourteen groups took part in each of the three concerts which were staged over the bank holiday weekend: Giewont – London, Karolinka – London, Karpaty – Southampton, Mazury – London, Mlody Las – Slough, Oberek – Swindon, Orleta – London, Polesie – Leicester, Polonez – Bournemouth, Polonez – Manchester, Rysy – Glasgow, Tatry – London, Wiesniacy – Birmingham and Zywiec – London. The shows were compered by Iwona Januszajtis, a mezzo soprano, and Wojciech Piekarski, an actor, both of whom also performed during the shows.
