3rd Festival of Polish Folklore – Leamington Spa – 1997

4 & 5 May 1997

This was the third time the festival was taking place in Royal Leamington Spa. As on previous occasions, the performers took to the streets in costume so that the locals could get a glimpse of the colourful costumes on display during the shows.

Groups which performed

Fourteen groups took part in each of the two concerts which were staged over the bank holiday weekend: Giewont – London, Karolinka – London, Karpaty – Southampton, Klosy – Cambridge, Mazury – London, Mlody Las – Slough, Oberek – Swindon, Orleta – London, Polesie – Leicester, Polonez – Bournemouth, Polonez – Manchester, Tatry – London, Wiesniacy – Birmingham and Zywiec – London. The shows were again compered by Iwona Januszajtis, a mezzo soprano, who also performed.
