About us

All our ensembles regularly perform at a great variety of civic and social functions, at ethnic or local festivals and charities. Some have performed on T.V. and / or for royalty. What unites all the ensembles is a common love for their rich and colourful heritage.

The purpose of our Federation is to:

  1. Promote Polish folk culture throughout Great Britain, both within Polish communities and to the British public.
  2. Organise Polish Folklore Festivals and other performances in G.B.
  3. Be a central source of information & advice of folklore material, instructors, groups, and festivals (in U.K. and abroad).
  4. Arrange folklore workshops, facilitate exchange of instructors and the use of professional experts from Poland.
  5. Foster cooperation between member folklore groups.

In addition to the festivals and other event co-ordination, the Federation organises specialist workshops for senior dancers and instructors, teaching dance and instruction techniques. Once a year, a recognised specialist instructor and musician are invited to UK to present the highly regionalised histories of dance, music and song traditions of specific areas of Poland.
